South Africa lost both their openers as they managed only 68 runs for the loss of two wickets in the first session of the first Test match against Pakistan at Johannesburg on Friday.
Graeme Smith, captaining in his 100th Test match, won the toss and elected to bat first.
Smith and Alviro Peterson played out the first hour without much trouble. However, both of them fell in quick succession with the score on 46.
Junaid Khan and Umar Gul were finally rewarded for some good bowling as they managed to pick up a wicket each.
