After AB de Villier's unbeaten ton gave South Africa a massive lead of 480 at declaration, Vernon Philander struck early to send back Pakistan opener Mohammad Hafeez at Lunch on Day Three of the first Test at Johannesburg.
Continuing from an overnight score of 207 for three, South African duo of Hashim Amla and de Villiers added 68 more runs before captain Graeme Smith decided to declare the innings.
Amla was unbeaten on 74 while De Villiers brought up his century when South Africa declared at 275 for three, with a lead of 479 runs.
Pakistan had a nightmarish start to their chase as Hafeez, trying to nudge a delivery off Vernon Philander gave a catch to de Villiers to leave the visitors at 7 for one.
Opener Nasir Jamshed was joined by Azhar Ali in the middle and the duo saw off the first session to go in for lunch at 47 for one.
