Former Australia cricketer Paul Reiffel is set to make his debut as an umpire in Test cricket, with the upcoming series between West Indies and New Zealand in the Caribbean.
46-year-old Reiffel has been pursuing a career as an umpire after his retirement from international cricket in 2001-02. He played 35 Tests for Australia from 1992-98.
As an umpire, Reiffel has officiated in 24 One-Day Internationals and seven T20 Internationals, reported The Australian.
West Indies and New Zealand will play two Tests starting July 25, and Reiffel will be officiating in both the fixtures.
Reiffel is a part of three-member umpiring panel for the Test series, comprising England's Richard Kettleborough and South Africa's Marais Erasmus.
