Indian all-rounder Suresh Raina and England’s middle-order kingpin Kevin Pietersen moved up to fourth and second positions respectively in the International Cricket Council’s Twenty20 rankings for batsmen.
“Kevin Pietersen climbs to second place in T20 rankings, while Suresh Raina is up to fourth after T20I in Kolkata,” the ICC informed on Twitter.
Pietersen played a match-winning innings for England in the one-off T20 against India to help his team win the match by six wickets.
Despite having his thumb fractured, Pietersen slammed three sixes and five boundaries in his innings of 53 off 39 balls in england’s chase of 120 at the Eden Gardens.
The Indian all-rounder Raina, too moved up in the ICC rankings, to the fourth spot, with his 29-ball innings of 39 runs studded with two sixes and four boundaries.
