Former Indian batting legend Rahul Dravid is set to replace Sandeep Patil as National Cricket Academy (NCA) Director, according to media reports.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sources revealed that Anil Kumble, Dravid’s team-mate and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) President, has been asked to persuade the batsman.
Patil has been appointed as the national selection committee head and since then many names have been doing rounds for the post of NCA Director. Kiran More’s name has been doing the rounds too.
“Bangalore-based Rahul Dravid is more suitable for this post”, the source added.
“His name was discussed, though unofficially, on the BCCI corridor on the day of the AGM,” as quoted by the Pakistan Observer.
“Dravid has also desire to become the commentator. It is to be seen what option he choses from.”
Dravid retired from international and first class cricket in March, 2012. He is the second highest run getter in Test Cricket, only next to Sachin Tendulkar.
