Indian cricketers are set to indulge in a football match against a team of Bollywood stars featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan on March 30. The proceeds from the charity match will be donated to Magic Bus foundation. Virat Kohli will lead the team of cricketers which includes MS Dhoni.
According to an India Today report, the match titled as ‘Playing for Humanity’ will be managed by GS Entertainment and All Stars Football Club (ASFC).
"ASFC is a lot of fun. We plan to do great work. It's raising the awareness for a great game, to popularise it and to raise funds and it's a very noble gesture and I'm looking forward to playing," said Abhishek Bachchan.
Ranbir Kapoor, a passionate fan of the football reacted saying, "I'm fortunate to be one of the founders of the club. Bunty Walia (GS Entertainment) came with this brilliant idea and all the profits go to the charity organizations and I think it's a great cause."
This is not the first instance of Indian cricket players being involved in football. Few months ago, MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli played alongside football stars like Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba at a promotional event.
