State Bank of India Hyderabad entered the final of the BCCI Corporate Cricket tournament for the Raj Singh Dungarpur Trophy with a semifinal win over Comptroller and Auditor General Office on Monday.
Electing to bat first, the bankmen scored 318 for nine in 50 overs. CAG, who were 36 for 6 in 10.1 overs after the start of the fielding Power Play, managed to muster 210 all out in 50 overs, thanks to a solid partnership between Sumit and Bipul, who added 107 runs in 98 balls for the seventh wicket.
State Bank opener T Suman 109 (102b, 10x4, 5x6) was involved in two major partnerships of 96 runs in 78 balls for the first wicket with Daniel Manohar and then 101 runs in 123 balls with Annop Pai (62; 85b, 7x4) for the second wicket.
B Sumanth came up with a useful 39 of 32 balls (3x4, 1x6). CAG's left-arm spinner Bipul Sharma claimed four for 40 and leggie Azhar Shaikh took 3 for 62 and Rizwan Ahmed took six catches in SBH innings.
In reply, CAG's middle order batsman Sumit Sharma (34; 57b, 2x4, 1x6) and captain Bipul Sharma, coming in at number eight, missed a century with 92 (80b, 6x4, 5x6).
State Bank's medium pacers D Sivakumar (3 for 51), T Pavankumar (2 for 15) and Ashwin Yadav (2 for 23) and off spinner and man of the match T Suman 3 for 37 were the wicket takers. (PTI)
