Form might have deserted off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, but the turbanator is not short of good mentors to help him out. Ahead of the Mohali Test match, Sachin Tendulkar and former Punjab player Vikram Rathore spent some time to guide Bhajji after the practice session.
According to a report by Indian Express, Sachin asked Harbhajan to wait until the end of net session after which the Master Blaster was seen discussing animatedly with the off-spinner and demonstrating the grip of the ball.
Harbhajan who has more than 400 Test wickets to his name has struggled since the past one year and has failed to impress in the ongoing series versus Australia. After a few minutes of discussion, Harbhajan started bowling at a single stump placed by the Master Blaster. Few moments later Sachin was seen holding the ball and explaining the grip to the 32-year old.
The duo was later joined by Vikram Rathore, who opened for India for a brief period and is currently part of the selection panel headed by Sandeep Patil. Rathore was the captain of Punjab team when Harbhajan debuted for the state team.
After spending almost 30 minutes with his mentors, Harbhajan returned with a much more assured look. With Mohali being his home ground, the turbanator will look to exploit the conditions at home if he’s given a space in the playing XI.
Prior to his comeback into the team, Harbhajan had played the Ranji season where Punjab reached the semi finals and successfully lead the Rest of India side in the Irani Trophy.
