Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar’s request to shift the venue of the Ranji Trophy semi final match between Mumbai and Services to Mumbai was rejected by BCCI on Saturday.
Tendulkar had requested for such a shift before BCCI took the decision to stage the game at the Palam cricket ground in New Delhi from January 16.
According to a report on Times of India, it was revealed that BCCI rejected Tendulkar’s request by saying that it was against the rules and regulation of the board.
Tendulkar, who recently announced his retirement from the limited-over format of the game for India, is currently playing for Mumbai in the Ranji trophy and scored a century in the first innings of the quarter final tie against Baroda at Mumbai.
The matches in Ranji are being played on a home-and-away basis which allows Services to host the semi final this year as Mumbai hosted the tie back in 1964-65.
