ICC President Sharad Pawar met Yuvraj Singh, who is recuperating from a rare germ cell cancer, and offered the cricketer "some inspiring words".
Pawar, also the Union Agriculture Minister, met Yuvraj at his residence in Gurgaon.
"Was great to meet N Srinivasan and some inspiring words from Sharad Pawar today, and great support from Badal in the news,(sic)" Yuvraj wrote on his 'Twitter' page.
He also thanked his India team-mate Virender Sehwag, Englishman Kevin Pietersen and Sri Lankan Mahela Jayawardene for their goodwill messages.
"And lovely messages from the master blaster, kp, viru and mahela and of course all the love of the fans and the heros welcome by the media(sic)," tweeted Yuvraj.
Yuvraj returned to the country on Monday after spending more than two months in the United States and London to recuperate from a malignant tumour between his lungs and today addressed the media at his cricket academy at Gurgaon.
Lauding Yuvraj for his fighting abilities, Pawar, said he expects the left-hander to return to the cricket field sooner.
"With a strong will power he is fighting. He is a fighter. I am confident that he will overcome (the cancer)," Pawar said.
"I have seen him in Johannesburg where he hit six sixes in one over against England. Definitely, I will again get an opportunity to see similar performances from him in the future," he added.(PTI)
