Centurion: Feb 22, 2013
South Africa have won the toss and elected to bat first in the third and final Test against Pakistan at Supersport park, Centurion.
South Africa have already won the series 2-0 and will look to go hard to complete a whitewash on a green top which looks good to assist the bowlers.
Jacques Kallis will miss the Test due to a calf injury. Kyle Abbott will make his debut as he replaces Kallis. While Rory Kleinveldt replaces Morne Morkel who is suffering from a hamstring injury. Pakistan have made three changes in their side. Imran Farhat, Ehsan Adil and Rahat Ali will play in place of Nasir Jamshed, Tanvir Ahmed and Umar Gul.
Out of the 17 Test matches played at this venue, 14 matches have produced results and 13 were in favour of the hosts. This is an indication of the things waiting to welcome Pakistan at the SuperSport Park.
Pakistan have played South Africa only once at this venue in 2006-07 and lost the match by seven wickets, and also the series 2-1 in 2006-07. While Cape Town was Vernon Philander’s happy hunting ground, Dale Steyn has had a good record at this venue picking up 31 wickets in just five matches so far.
