Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene won the toss and chose to field in the only T20 International against India at Pallekele.
India are on a high after winning the One-Day International series 4-1.
Rohit Sharma's poor form remains a worry. However, Manoj Tiwary's contribution with the bat and the ball is a good sign for India.
Sri Lanka will look for a consolidatory victory against the visitors.
