After claiming eight wickets in the five-match series against visiting team Sri Lanka, England off-spinner Graeme Swann has climbed the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) rankings and dethroned Kiwi spinner Daniel Vettori as the no.1 bowler in One-Day Internationals (ODI).
Vettori held the no.1 spot since Sepember 2009 in ICC player rankings for ODI bowlers.
Swann is also no. 2 in the world behind Dale Steyn in the ICC’s Test rankings.
In the team rankings, Sri Lanka, who lost the recently concluded ODI series against England, dropped from third to fourth spot in ICC’s ODI rankings while England, who won the series 3-2 remain at fifth position.
