Tarot reader Shruti Chopra looks into her cards to give CricketCountry.com readers exclusive insights into what lies ahead in the IPL matches. In the below piece, she dwells into the Pune Warriors India vs Deccan Chargers game - the only IPL match on Thursday.
Pune Warriors India
Pune Warriors will work hard to achieve this win as they will realise that it won't come easily. The Three of Cups states their will to pursue victory through strong team strategies. The Warriors will have a well-rounded performance, with their batting being strongest. The team, like the Page of Wands will be steady and sure-footed - they will be careful to not make silly mistakes.
Sourav Ganguly will be economical as a bowler and will be part of a strong partnership while batting. That will give Pune a very crucial start. In his captaincy, like the King of Pentacles, he will be dominant, aggressive and determined to get this win.
Jesse Ryder holds the key to Pune's success. He's Emperor like strong, and ready to elevate his team's position, as signified by the Ten of Cups.
Steve Smith will need to be pushed up the order today. He will be another important player, and with the High Priestess supporting him, he will take on his opportunity and display his talent.
Robin Uthappa is looking aggressive, but with the Nine of Swords coming up, he won't be able to maintain his tempo.
Luke Wright seems ready to take on a challenge. He is balanced and graced with success today.
Ashish Nehra will need to direct his aggression much better, if he is to see results.
Rahul Sharma will contain well and with The Wheel of Fortune encouraging him, he should have a good day too.
The Deccan Chargers have come out well planned, and are ready to play a mature game. Unfortunately, with the Eight of Swords showing up, they will find themselves falling into their old problems again. They will need to step up their fielding as it's looking the weakest today. Towards the second half of the match, the Death card appears, which shows their strong will to change all that is going wrong. They will make some successful efforts to fight the opposition well.
Kumar Sangakkara is looking to take responsibility for a strong team innings. He will provide renewed energy and will be an important factor in laying the team's foundations. As a captain, he's like the Seven of Swords, trying to fit too many pieces of the puzzle all at once. He will find it tough to bring about the right changes at the right time.
Parthiv Patel will initially be aggressive in his batting, and will maintain a high strike rate. He will be an important player today.
Shikhar Dhawan has lots of potential, which he will show glimpses of, but will find himself working very hard to bring this out.
JP Duminy will be another player that will need to work very hard to make runs, but if he maintains an aggressive approach like the Knight of Wands then he will be able to do well with the bat.
Dale Steyn will put his team in a strong position. The Chariot shows that he has managed to create the right formula between aggression and direction. He will be key for Deccan.
Amit Mishra, like the Magician, has all the tricks up his sleeve. He will be well planned and will understand when to use this.
Who holds advantage?
With so many players stepping up from both sides, this will be a good fight. Overall, Pune will play a better game. It's advantage Pune Warriors India.
