Hyderabad Cricket Association immortalised VVS Laxman at Hyderabad by naming the north stand of the Uppal stadium after him ahead of the first Test match between India and New Zealand on Thursday.
The HCA had announced that a stand will be named after the Hyderabadi batsman after he announced his retirement from international cricket on August 19 this year.
Laxman played 134 Test for India and scored 8781 runs at an average of 45.97.
The HCA will also put up a bronze statue of Laxman in the stadium.
