Watson and Anderson got into a verbal spat during the 2009 Ashes which continued in the later series in 2010-11.
"That is always the enjoyable part of playing against England, high quality players and Jimmy especially," Watson said.
"He is a world-class bowler and he has got a way of getting up people's skin as well. That is the reason why you play cricket to play against those guys.
"We are all very excited about playing against Jimmy. It is a lot of fun and it really gets everything going,” he added.
Anderson has enjoyed success against the Australians, but the Aussie all-rounder urged his teammates not to get bogged down by numbers.
"(You) find the areas you need to work on but certainly not get spooked by it," Watson was quoted as saying by the Sydney Morning Herald.
Watson said that Australia's poor record in the Ashes off late could have some effect on the mindset, but added that they must look for a fresh start.
"Hopefully ... we will have some happy memories (rather) than the previous couple of (Test) series," he said.
