Is it the beginning of a new era of domination, akin to West Indies under
Clive Lloyd or the rampaging Australians much later? That is the question
uppermost in the minds of cricket fans as England take over the tag of the
No 1 Test team from India.

Team India has been impressive over the past few years in both Tests and
One-Day Internationals and one bad series cannot make the champion side so
bad. Of course, it could well be the start of a bad run, but it's premature
to come to such pessimistic conclusions. The disastrous Test series in
England could well be a wake-up call and India could take the necessary
steps to effect the turnaround. Whether it swings one way or the other, one
the passage of time will decide. But
