MI vs RR 20:00 IST

Today there was less traffic on the roads and it was more of a calm Sunday then how usually it is. There was silence in the air and I could feel the difference. I realized that the ‘Cricketing Legend’ was batting. There is this man who has this unique talent of talking with a piece of wood. What is more astonishing is that not one and not a few but the world listens to him when that piece of wood speaks.
Sachin Tendulkar yet again gave a reason to his fans to smile and be proud of him. Scoring 120 runs against England, the little master seemed to be on song. We associate so many adjectives with his name but I think apart from elegance and class today’s innings was more of a responsible one. With Sehwag departing early in the innings it was on Sachin to play the role of an anchor and make India reach a respectable total. The initial half of his innings seemed full of compassion and patience (which was indeed the need of the hour) but later it seemed as if he fully pressed his Ferrari’s throttle.
It doesn’t matter to him when people talk about being old and about retirement. To him numbers only refer to runs and nothing else. He has excelled so much that even his age is afraid of acting as a hindrance in his career. He knows one thing and that is to play the game and play it in such a fashion that it surpasses all the words thrown at him by his critics.
Fulfilling the hopes of more than 1.6 billion people, this innings was certainly a responsible one. Lets hope that the master’s bat keeps on talking in a similar fashion throughout this tournament and if it so, the Cup will be ours.
