23rd day of November 2011 at the Wankhede Stadium was a fruitful Sunday and a treat to watch.
I , along with 3 friends went and experienced yet another Indian victorious moment.
The view from the Devicha Pavilion was amazing. We were right in front of the corporate box. The England teams dressing team was just some yards away. It was a very unlikely spectacle that the North Stand was very empty. Otherwise it is always jam packed and with the cricket fans with lots of wisdom who make life miserable of the fielders standing on the boundary Line.
One thing that the MCA has done well is the seating arrangement. The Wooden seats have made way to the bucket seat and that too numbered. So there’s no more of first come first serve situation any more. Cleaner toilets and proper drinking water availability was the need of the hour which they have addressed it with accuracy.
It was 2: 30 in the afternoon that we reached the stadium. After passing through the thorough security check, we reached in our stand. The stand was awesome and the view was adding icing on to the cake.
England took on to the Indians in the first 20 over’s, hitting the ball all over the park. But then came the consolidation time and our bowlers started taking wickets.
I had a first look at Varon Arron at the match and boy; he has the quality of the fast bowler. He has log way to go unless some coach comes and asks him to reduce his pace!
Earlier case, if you go to buy some refreshment, it meant one would miss all the action and would come back only after half an hour. There were no mega screens where in you could see the replay. You miss the action and you can only watch it in the highlights once you reach home
But this time around things have changed. There’s not much crowd and refreshments are easily available. There are giant screens showing the replays so the action missed can be seen on the replay.
It was far too less a total for the target. Indians lost quick wickets. But boy, in came Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina and anchored the ship. Time and again I stress on the fact that Kohli is the future captain of Indian team. He has the right kind of attitude and is making lots of noise with his bat.
The spectators booed some of the England Players and the ones at the receiving end were Kevin Peitersen and Steven Finn.
There was only one strike from Dhoni that went over the boundary that too it was a free hit.
On and on it was an easy victory for the Indians to take the lead of 4-0.
There’s only one question that I have to ask to the Administrators of MCA…
Why were the speakers off during the presentation ceremony and no announcement??
