A UK-based charity Cricket Without Boarders in partnership with Uganda Cricket Association (UCA), the International Cricket Council (ICC) and UK Sport have launched a three-year project aimed at developing cricket in Uganda.
The UCA vice president Dan Ligyalingi said that the ambition of the project was praiseworthy and hoped it would only increase the competitiveness in the country.
“Our goal is to have schools playing hard-ball cricket in three years. In four years we want to see a school from Northern Uganda in the boys and girls Schools Cricket Week. And in five years we want to see a team from the North in the national league,” he was quoted by New Vision.
The total budget for the project is $82,000.
