Barclays and Kidney Research UK have organised tournament to help raise fund for a young boy with a rare form of kidney disease.
Six companies will take on each other in a charity cricket tournament in Uppingham next week
According to reports in rutland-times.co.uk, each business has pledged £150 to take part, with additional fundraising on the day expected to help raise around £1,500 for Alex Gibbs, nine, from Peterborough who suffers from MPGN Type II, which cannot be cured and prevents him from receiving a transplant.
All proceeds from the tournament will go to help Kidney Research UK fund further research into rare kidney diseases such as MPGN, which have a tendency to affect young children like Alex.
Barclays and Kidney Research UK will compete against Anglian Water, solicitors Roythornes, chartered accountants Ensors and Greenwoods menswear.
