Pune Warriors scored 166 for six against Kings XI Punjab in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium on Sunday.

Marlon Samuels of West Indies top scored for Pune with 46 off 39 balls while Punjab's Harmeet Singh picked up three wickets for 24 runs.

Electing to bat first, PWI openers started gingerly with Sourav Ganguly edging couple of deliveries to fine leg fence.

Finally, Ganguly’s misery in the middle came to an end when Dimitri Mascarenhas had the Pune skipper caught by Paul Valthaty for 20.

Two overs later Punjab got the all important breakthrough when a mix up found Jesse Ryder short of his crease and was run-out for eight.

Samuels and Uthappa then joined forces as the duo took the attack to the Pune bowlers stitching an 81-run partnership for the third wicket.
