
Australia captain Michael Clarke has urged all schools in his country to have physical education as a compulsory subject.
Clarke congratulated the Australian athletes who shone at the recently-concluded London Olympics.
“Want to say a big congrats to all the Australian Olympians. What an honor to represent your country whether you won a medal or not,” he wrote on Twitter.
He added, “Is physical education compulsory in all schools in Australia? If not it needs to be.”
Australia had a successful Olympics campaign in London, as their contingent of 410 athletes managed to bring 35 medals home.
Australia won seven gold, 16 silver and 12 bronze medals.
