Australia being a dominant team for the past 3 world cup matches doesn't seem to be the same in World Cup 2011. The reason for this very clear that the current Australian squad is missing few big names like Gilchrist, Hayden, Warne and Mcgrath. Pointing was happily riding a strong team for 2003 and 2007 World Cup which Steven Waugh had built before the 1999 world cup. But now when the situation demanded him build his own team for 2011 World Cup made his task difficult one.

The only positive factor of this present Australian team is Brett Lee who is delivering consistently even if Tait and Johnson fail to do. On the other hand their batting looks fragile against spin bowling attack which is the major worry for pointing and also his own poor form too. They clearly failed against the spin attack with a massive slump in the warm up match against India and in the league match against Pakistan. There are few big names like Watson, Clarke, Pointing, White and Hussey but none of them scored a century in this World Cup so far. Pointing should heating up his brain to win the battle against Indian spin bowling which looks an uphill task for his team.

On the other hand Indian spin attack looks confident having beaten Australia in the warm up match. Harbajan leading the spin attack with the support of yuvraj, pathan and ashwin/chawla in which yuvraj is in a wicket taking form. It is advantage India against the Aussies with 40 overs of spin bowling option for Dhoni which could make it a one sided match.

Unfortunately this time it is Aussies who are underdogs, lets wait and see does pointing & Co. pass through the test against Harbajan & Co. or will it be a repeat of the warm up match.
