Sania Mirza is in the limelight due to her mixed doubles victory at Roland Garros. Mahesh Bhupati and Mirza clinched the french open recently.
In an interview to Times of India, Mirza revealed how she won the tournament and how her husband Shoaib Malik supports her. Malik is a former Pakistan captain who continues to be a part of their T20 international setup.
Mirza revealed that her husband was ecstatic at her victory. She told Times of India, "Obviously, he is thrilled. Being a professional sportsman himself, he fully understands the value of my winning another Grand Slam title."
She also said that the added pressure of being a wife doesn't bother her. "I have a very supportive husband and he makes things very easy for me," she revealed.
Malik is trying to work his way back into Pakistan's teams. Although, he has been backed by the think-tank, he hasn't been consistent enough.
Mirza's victory may be a huge motivation for him and the couple would be looking forward to Malik's return to the Test and One Day International (ODI) team.
