
Sri Lanka all-rounder Angelo Mathews on Monday launched a book ahead of the ICC World T20, which features him as a 10-year-old boy aspiring for a career in cricket.
“Sri Lanka cricketer Angelo Mathews has today launched a new book for @RoomtoRead ahead of the #wt20,” the International Cricket Council informed on Twitter.
The ICC added, “The book launched by Mathews is titled Little Angelo’s Big Day in Cricket and will be published in Sinhala and Tamil.”
“The book features Mathews as a 10 year old boy who takes part in a nail-biting match that takes him on his journey to become a cricketer!” it added.
According to a report in The Island, ‘The book titled Little Angelo’s Big Day in Cricket, Punchi Angelo (in Sinhala), and Siryuvayadil Angelo (in Tamil) is for many young cricket fans across the country and help nurture the habit of reading.’
‘Designed for early learners in Grades 1 and 2, the book is written by Dayan Senevirathna and illustrated by Aruna Keerthi Gamage. Published in Sinhala and Tamil languages, the book features Mathews as a 10-year-old boy who takes part in a nail-biting cricket match that takes him on his journey to become a phenomenal cricketer,’ the report added.
