Kumar Sangakkara's 55 helped Sri Lanka to win their maiden ICC World T20 and also won him the Man of the Match. Sri Lanka had reached the final of ICC events five times in the last seven years but previously weren't able to finish the job. This victory meant they had won their first World Cup after the triumph in 1996. Lasith Malinga was the standing captain as Sri Lankaâ€™s captain Dinesh Chandimal was left out the side.
