Graeme Pollock, one of South Africa' greatest left-handed batsmen, made his Test debut on December 6 in 1963.

Pollock played 23 Test matches and is a part of a renouned cricketing family in South Africa.

In 1999, he was voted as South Africa's Cricketer of the 20th Century and one of Wisden's Cricketers of the Year in 1966.

He was selected in 2007 as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World in 1967 and 1969.

His Test match batting average of 60.97 remains second only to Sir Donald Bradman.
