West Indies won by 3 wkts | West Indies Vs Bangladesh Live Score, 1st ODI

A comfortable victory in the end for the hosts. Join us for the second ODI between these two teams in a couple of days time. For now, cheers and bye..
Bravo: 'I think it was a great team effort. One of the best innings I saw both (Pollard and Ramdin) play. We had a shaky start, but it was nice to see two of the top-7 batsmen making it count. Jason Holder finished it off well. It was a slow track and I was pleased with the efforts of our bowlers. They did well but we need to step up in the batting unit (me included). Overall, I am pretty pleased. We want the players to enjoy the cricket. The seniors should express themselves, and we are looking to get back to our best.'
Rahim: 'We were probably 20-25 runs short. The wicket was a bit slow. The batsmen got off to a start but couldn't convert. Anamul batted well but he needed some support. We bowled well in the early part, but lost the plot as the partnership developed. We need to do the basics well and execute our plans if we need to start winning matches.'
Pollard: 'We lost a few early wickets. I was striking the ball well. There was some pressure on us, but Denesh and me batted well. Credit to our bowlers for restricting them to just 217. I want to score on a consistent basis. Hopefully, this is just a start. Disappointed at not finishing off the match. We spoke about it during the team meeting. Looking forward to the next game.'
Kieron Pollard is the MoM for his 89
West Indies go 1-0 ahead. Things looked bleak at 34/5, but Ramdin and Pollard almost took them home during the course of a splendid 145-run stand for the 6th wicket. Pollard (89) was sublime and was well supported by Ramdin (74). Bangladesh envisioned fresh hopes of pulling off an upset win when both fell, but Jason Holder held his nerve to steer the hosts home.
39.4 Al-Amin Hossain to Jason Holder 4
FOUR, WI win, fuller length delivery and well outside off, Holder goes for the drive and gets a thick edge past the keeper for the winning boundary
39.3 Al-Amin Hossain to Jason Holder 4
FOUR, is that it for the match? Nicely played by Holder, this was short and on the stumps, doesn't rise as much as Hossain wants, Holder rocks back and pulls it in front of mid-wicket for a boundary
39.2 Al-Amin Hossain to Sunil Narine 1
1 run, Hossain comes from round the wicket and bangs one short into Narine, he swivels across, rolls his wrists and pulls it behind square for a run
39.1 Al-Amin Hossain to Jason Holder 1
1 run, on a good length and just outside off, dabbed away towards third man for a run
End of over 39, 7 runs (. 4 1 . 2 . )
WI: 209/7
Sunil Narine - 2(4) This over: 2 runs
Jason Holder - 13(12) This over: 5 runs
Mashrafe Mortaza
(8.0 - 2 - 22 - 1)
38.6 Mashrafe Mortaza to Sunil Narine 0
no run, tad fuller and on off, defended with a straight bat towards mid-off
38.5 Mashrafe Mortaza to Sunil Narine 2
2 runs, too straight from Mortaza, whipped away past mid-on for an easy couple
38.4 Mashrafe Mortaza to Sunil Narine 0
no run, short of a length and on the stumps, pushed back towards the bowler
38.3 Mashrafe Mortaza to Jason Holder 1
1 run, fuller length delivery and just outside off, driven wide off mid-off for a quick single
38.2 Mashrafe Mortaza to Jason Holder 4
FOUR, lovely shot, there were shouts of 'catch it' as the ball went in the air, but the placement was good and the timing was even better. Holder leant into a length ball and caressed it past extra cover
