Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh, Only T20I, Bangladesh tour of Sri Lanka 2013

Commentary

Sri Lanka won by 17 runs | Sri Lanka Vs Bangladesh Live Score, Only T20I

Chandimal holds aloft the trophy and the rest of his team-mates join in. That's all we have for you from here. Do join us again for the Indian T20 league which is starting on April 3rd. Until then good bye from all of us here....
Chandimal: I am very happy winning my first match as skipper. Kushal Perera was great. Jeevan Mendis, Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera batted very well in the final overs. Malinga was superb and he gave us a lot of advice. I have to work on my form. I would like to thank the crowd for their support.
Perera: I enjoyed the knock. There was a little bit of pace and bounce in the wicket but the ball came on nicely. I am not copying anyone but my style resembles a bit like Sanath Jayasuriya. I am always looking to score boundaries in the first six overs. It is very good to play with youngsters.
Kushal Janith Perera is the MoM for scoring 64 off 44 balls.
Rahim: We gave away 20 runs more while fielding and bowling. We have achieved a lot of positives in the Tests and ODIs. We have lot of work with the bowling. The boys performed consistently. Mominul and Nasir Hossain played well. Ashraful and Tamim also played consistently. I am glad that I created history by becoming the first Bangladesh player to score 200 in the Test. The support staff worked well. I have thoroughly enjoyed playing in Sri Lanka.
So Sri Lanka hold onto their No.1 ranking in T20Is for this year. In the end, Bangladesh did well to come close to the Sri Lankan total and this was also their highest total batting second in T20Is. 199 was always going to be a tough chase, but Ashraful started off well with some big hits. Soon they lost wickets in a heap and once again it was Rahim who brought them back to the game with a responsible knock. Some tight bowling towards the end by the Sri Lankan bowlers made it difficult for Bangladesh and they fell short by 17 runs. Stay tuned for the presentation....
