Chennai Super Kings vs Sydney Sixers, Group T20,
Sydney Sixers won by 14 runsInnings Comparison, Man of the match: M Henriques
Commentary
That's it for this game. There is another one coming up between the Lions and Mumbai. Do hop over to the other tab to follow that. Until next time, see ya and enjoy your Sunday evening.
Henriques: 'It was a nice day today and very happy to get the win early doors. It was very important to change your pace, with two batsmen who were going so well, can't get too predictable. Today's game shows how close the tournament will be.'
Henriques is the MoM for his quick innings and the wickets of Raina, Dhoni and Badri.
Haddin: 'It was a good result in the end, it is always nice to get off to a win in the tournament early on. It was a normal Wanderers wicket with plenty of pace. We knew it is a very hard ground to defend on and our plans worked to the T today. It is important to get better and better in the tournament and that's what we are planning to do.'
Dhoni: 'At the end of the first innings, we felt that we gave away 15 runs too many, but it happens in this format. We batted really well, Hussey and Faf batted brilliantly at the top. Raina was aggressive and calculated throughout his innings. Maybe if we hadn't lost those wickets, we could've won.'
One thought that 185 was a bridge too far for the Chennai side and so it proved. Though one must say that Faf and Raina took it to the opposition with audacious strokeplay. The Sydney side took wickets when it mattered and Steven Smith's catch to get Raina was the turning point. So Chennai start with a loss and it will be interesting to see what MS says in the presentation. Do stay tuned for that.
