Sydney Sixers won by 12 runsInnings Comparison, Man of the match: S Smith
Commentary
That ends the double dead rubber. Join us tomorrow, much more meaningful matches are coming your way from the other group. Bye!
Steve Smith: 'It was nice to score a few runs. We got a decent start and lost a few wickets then. We had to rebuild and glad I could do it. It was the first game under lights so it skidded on. It's always a good challenge to play against teams like Mumbai and perform. I try to play till the end, played a lazy shot today but hope to play till the end whenever I can. I try and be in the action always, I always want the ball to come to me when I'm fielding.'
Steve Smith is the Man of the Match
Haddin: ' 137 was enough, I thought. We had to get the ball in the right areas. We've asked our guys to get better and better in the field as the tournament progresses. We have a semi final now and it's different cricket there. We've got some smart cricketers, they know their roles. We bat pretty deep.'
Harbhajan: 'This was the kind of the game which hurt more than the last game. 137 was gettable - not in 20 overs but in 18 overs! We were too slow at the top. We didn't take the responsibility and didn't look to score runs. That's all I can say. When you're not scoring too many runs, you have to try and take singles. When that's not happening, you try and take risky singles which caused run outs. Australians are top fielders. We didn't get the start in the first 6 overs in this tournament. We were 26/2 in the 6 overs in the last match. We wanted to save wickets but we also have to score runs at the top. The same thing happened in the IPL as well. We need to improve as a team there. We bowled well though, we tried our best but we didn't play as well as the other teams.'
That ends Mumbai's campaign. Their batting failed them once again. Tendulkar was terribly out of form at the top, and their usual consistent performers - Rohit and Rayudu - didn't do much either. They have a lot of thinking to do ahead of the next season. Sydney on the other hand were clinical, despite not having Watson.
Sydney have won all 4 matches in the league stage. Mumbai go back without a win. Remember, Mumbai are the defending champions. 137 was not an imposing target but Mumbai will feel they didn't pace their chase well. Dwayne Smith and Tendulkar put on a 50+ stand but they lost momentum once Henriques got both of them in the same over. The run-outs of Rohit and DK didn't help either.

out Caught by Haddin!! Oh my, that's one of the best catches I've seen in recent times! Stunner from Haddin. And a superb ball too - a bouncer right on the body, Malinga tried to evade it but he got some glove on it, the ball was flying at rapid pace to the left of Haddin but he was quick and plucked it from the air with a dive. Superb effort, and what's his age? 35! Malinga c Haddin b P Cummins 1(4)
