India vs England, 2nd T20I, England tour of India 2012-13

Commentary

England won by 6 wkts | India Vs England Live Score, 2nd T20I

Meanwhile, the 2nd T20I between South Africa and New Zealand is coming up tomorrow. Do join us for that. Cheers and goodbye.
Both captains lift the trophy together and that brings an end to this phase of England's tour of India. They will be back in January for the ODI series. We hope you enjoyed the coverage as much as we loved bringing it to you.
Dhoni: 'The dew does really change the course of the game. We did not start well though. We had to do something early on. They played a lot of cuts and pulls initially and it was difficult to come back after that. There was a span of time in the middle when we did not get much runs but they were bowling really well and executed their plans. Overall I think the score we got was a good one. The fast bowlers are still raw. Dinda bowled well. Awana is raw. They are good prospects and we have to back them.'
Morgan: 'Hell of a game of cricket. Great pitch for a T20 game. It held through for the whole 40 overs. Great to see. The stats of the stadium suggested that chasing was the way to go. We backed ourselves to do it. The fielding was outstanding. Today we were amazing. It's one of the best crowds I've played in front of.'
Yuvraj: 'I just tried to vary my pace. I saw where the England batsmen wanted to hit me and tried to confuse them. The ball comes quicker onto the bat with the dew. We bowled well in patches. The way Morgan finished the game was incredible. Personally, I've been hitting the ball since the Ranji game. I just have to work more on my fitness.'
Yuvraj Singh is the Man of the Series for his good showing with the ball in both games.
Eoin Morgan is the Man of the Match for his superb knock under pressure.
Buttler: 'We dragged India back in the middle but they got away in the end. Morgan was very confident. He asked me to go for it if it was in my arc. Top class finish from a top class batsman. It's nice to go back home before Christmas with a win.'
India's bowling was always going to be under pressure with the dew around. The lead spinners, Ashwin and Chawla, did not have anything going for them. Awana had a day that he would want to forget very quickly. Dinda bowled with a lot of energy but was not consistent with his lines and length. It was only Yuvraj's spell that kept them in the game until the last over.
Morgan was very calm under pressure and the clean strokes towards the end showed his skill as much as his mental strength. He never betrayed any emotion up until he hit the last ball over the ropes.
England celebrate and rightly so. Morgan leaps up on Buttler even as his team-mates in the dug-out pump their fists. Handshakes all around now. England have squared the series 1-1. The chase was very professional from England. The openers gave them a great start. Yuvraj Singh pulled things back with a miserly spell where he picked up 3 wickets as well. A lot depended on Morgan who came in late to take England across and he did it in style.
End of over 20, 12 runs (1 1 1 2 1b 6 )
ENG: 190/4
Eoin Morgan - 49(26) This over: 8 runs
Jos Buttler - 15(7) This over: 3 runs
Ashok Dinda
(4.2 - 0 - 44 - 1)
19.6 Ashok Dinda to Eoin Morgan 6
SIX, Eoin Morgan does it for England! It was full and straight. Eoin Morgan gets under it nicely and sends it deep into the stands straight down the ground. Top class finish that from the skipper and Dinda removes his headband in sheer disappointment.
Fine leg up in the circle. Here we go.
Dhoni comes in to day something to Dinda. Raina, Gambhir and Yuvraj come in with their two cents to Dhoni. They do not like the mid off up in the circle.
A battle of nerves and minds here. Dinda runs in full length and does not deliver. Eoin Morgan was looking to paddle and Dinda has a wry smile on his face. So does the England skipper.
