Here are a few tweets:
Malinga takes the trophy and hands it over to his mates. All joyous scenes out there for Sri Lanka. Deserving winners of the 2014 edition of the tournament. The Sri Lankan side do a lap of honour with the trophy!
Malinga: 'I think I am really lucky to captain the side in the last three games. The boys have done a really fantastic job. Today was the last day for Mahela and Sanga in the tournament so we wanted to do something special. We bowled extremely well in the last few overs to keep them down to 130 odd. Mahela and Sanga are world-class players in Sri Lanka and we are honoured to play alongside them. It's a great opportunity for us to play with them.'
Dhoni: 'Well I think in the middle overs our batsmen tried their best to get going but it was one of those days where we couldn't get the boundaries. Only Virat was batting well at one end. They executed their plans well. Most of our batsmen aren't those who play the scoop over fine leg and they executed their yorkers very well. Malinga has a slingy action and it becomes more difficult to pick up those yorkers. It was a perfect game for Sri Lanka. The last one, one and a half years, Kohli has been exceptional. He's someone who's made the most out of the opportunities. He's got a bright future ahead of him. He's someone who can bat anywhere in any format. All the five tournaments had different conditions. It will always be a test. Probably it's easy for someone like Virat who plays the same shots in all the formats. We have been a bit of a nuisance to the Bangladeshi people in stopping the traffic for our buses to get to the ground and back to the hotel. So sorry for that. But overall, we enjoyed the trip.'
Kohli: 'Firstly congratulations to the Sri Lankan team especially Sanga and Mahela. Yeah, Darren Sammy was right. The Gods were indeed smiling on Mahela and Sanga and they signed off on a high. I just stuck to my basics and it worked for me. In the last T20 Cup I tried to do my bit but we couldn't go through so I thought this time around I had to do it for the side. People have been taking about how I can't score in the first innings, but it was just about spending time in the middle for me. You can't do much when Malinga gets those yorkers right. Everyone has a bad day. It's also that the bowling was very good and hence Yuvraj couldn't get going.'
Virat Kohli is the Man of the Series for his 319 runs.
Sanga: 'It's been a long time coming. We waited six years. Fifth final and we did it. I didn't do much other than keep wickets in the tournament, but happy to get this knock here. Virat was about to take the game away from us, but that death bowling was spectacular. Lasith was very good, Angelo had a brilliant tournament and I am proud to be a part of this unit. My family and playing for Sri Lanka are the two most important things for me. Everyone's got to go and it's my turn now.'
Sangakkara is the Man of the Match for his 35-ball 52.
