Chennai Super Kings vs Pune Warriors India, 19th T20 Match IPL 2013

Commentary

Pune won by 24 runs | Chennai Super Kings Vs Pune Warriors India Live Score, 19th Match

That concludes what we have for you tonight. Two good games coming your way tomorrow. Do join us for that too. Cheers and goodbye for now.
Presentations:
Smith: 'I was ready to go tonight. I got my chance and we won the game. That was the most important thing. The reverse sweep comes off once in a while. It came off today. We could have probably got another 10 if we had not lost wickets in the end. It was a great team effort. Just the positive intent at the start with the bat and then with the ball.'
Steven Smith is the Man of the match.
Ross Taylor: 'It was a good team performace. Robin And Finchy set up a good platform and obviously Smith came on and finished it superbly. Our intensity was not up to the mark in the previous games but this win makes me very happy. There's a long way to go and we hope to continue the momentum. Bhuvneshwar has bowled well for us.'
MS Dhoni: 'We gave away few too many in the first few overs. We could have batted a little more positively. We did not capitalise in the first 6 overs. On wickets like these that slow down, that is crucial. It's important to bowl 2 or 3 yorkers in the end overs. It is difficult to hit. I think it's good we got a game like this early in the tournament.'
Rahul Sharma: 'It's a big win. Chennai, like Bangalore, is a big team and beating them is a huge thing. My strength is to bowl wicket to wicket. Dhoni and Bravo are big hitters but my job was just to keep it straight.'
Chennai looked a bit rusty tonight. The chase never really got going. Badrinath played a neat hand in the middle order but the finishing touch was missing. Dhoni, Morkel and co could not bring out the big hits late in the innings. Pune were very disciplined. It was started off by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and carried forward by Rahul Sharma. The win should shake the hosts up a bit. They did experiment with a few things but it might not stick on for long.

(4.0 - 0 - 34 - 2)
19.6 Ashok Dinda to Ravichandran Ashwin 1
1 run, very full and outside off, Ashwin jams it out through square leg for a single. Pune finish a clinical win and there are high fives all around in the vistiors' camp
19.5 Ashok Dinda to Ravichandran Ashwin 4
FOUR, full and outside off, Ashwin makes room and slashes hard, the thick edge flies very quickly past the keeper and down to the third man fence
19.4 Ashok Dinda to Ravichandran Ashwin 2
2 runs, dug in short and into the body, Ashwin leans back and guides it uppishly wide of third man for a couple
19.3 Ashok Dinda to Ravichandran Ashwin 4
FOUR, low full toss outside off, Ashwin makes room and squeezes it out neatly between short third man and backward point to get off the mark. Too little too late for Chennai
19.2 Ashok Dinda to Ravichandran Ashwin 0
no run, right in the blockhole now. Ashwin can only push it back down the track
Ravichandran Ashwin, right handed bat, comes to the crease
19.1 Ashok Dinda to Albie Morkel W
out Caught by Finch!! Finch takes a stunner at long off and Allan Donald is pumped up. It was lofted flat and very hard by Morkel. Finch times his jump to perfection at takes it with both hands, just inside the ropes. Albie Morkel c Finch b Dinda 13(11) [6s-1]
