Delhi Daredevils vs Chennai Super Kings, 24th T20 Match IPL 2013

Commentary

Chennai won by 86 runs | Delhi Daredevils Vs Chennai Super Kings Live Score, 24th Match

That is all from us here. Join us for the match between Hyderabad and Punjab tomorrow. Until then, Bye Bye!
Presentation Ceremony:
Michael Hussey: 'The best place for an opening position is in the sub-continent and I am enjoying myself. We are assessing the situation and we look to build partnerships. There are so many big hitters in the team and I was surprised that I got the award for the big hits. Albie and the other guys hit it 20-30 rows back and I just manage to clear the ropes.
Michael Hussey is the MoM for his unbeaten 65 off 50 balls.
MS Dhoni: 'I thought it was not a 170 wicket. Michael Hussey batted well and the small outfield helped us in hitting big shots. We see who are the bowlers who are left to bowl and we look at which batsman can target which bowler. We have to get used to the pace of the wicket and it became slower. The Chennai wicket is hard to hit as it stops a lot. Chennai have not started well and it is important to make some gradual progress. We are continuing to make some changes in the team so that we can get the composition right. I was surprised by the amount of support we had at this venue. I think most of them do not understand Tamil here (When asked to do the Whistle Podu for the fans).'
Mahela Jayawardene: 'We have a couple of days off and it gives the guys a couple of days to reflect what has gone wrong. I am very diplomatic and I will not lose my temper. The guys are working hard but nothing has gone right for us in this tournament. Everyone has to lift their game. If we had one or two games going our way, we could be in a good position.'
Mohit Sharma: 'I am concentrating on the basics. I was just trying to bowl the right line and length. The wicket was a slow and low wicket. It was not an easy wicket for the batsman.'
Delhi got off to a horror start yet again as the top order collapsed. Mohit Sharma was the star with the ball as he snapped up the wickets of David Warner and Manprit Juneja in his first over. Mahela Jayawardene survived a close catch appeal off Morris but he departed to a poor umpiring decision in the same over. Wickets tumbled at regular intervals and none of the Delhi batsmen got going. Only Kedhar Jadhav played an innings of substance but it was a dominant performance by the Chennai bowlers. Delhi are in the bottom of the table and they will need to win 8 out of the remaining 10 games to have any chance for a place in the play-offs. Join us in a bit for the presentation.
Stat attack 2: This is now Delhi's eighth consecutive loss in the Indian T20 League. Last year, they lost both the qualifiers and now they have lost six on the trot.
Stat attack: This is now Chennai's 50th win in the Indian T20 League. They are the first team to achieve this feat in this tournament.
