Delhi Daredevils vs Pune Warriors India, 39th T20 Match IPL 2013

Commentary

Delhi won by 15 runs | Delhi Daredevils Vs Pune Warriors India Live Score, 39th Match

That ends all the action for the day. Do join us for another double header tomorrow. For now, cheers and bye..
Warner: I have been given the role of batting through, I am really enjoying it. I thought if I batted for 20 overs, we will get a good score on the board. The pitch was very good and had consistent bounce and pace. We thought that 150 was a par score and to get more was satisfying. Hopefully, we will take the momentum going into the next game and reel some victories in a row.'
David Warner is the MoM
Mahela: 'We should believe in ourselves. We stuck to our plans well today. Warner was very good in those middle overs. Our bowling was excellent today. I thought 140 was a par score, to get 160 on such big outfields was a good effort. We have not been consistent with the bat, hopefully, we will do well in the remaining games. The guys bowled in good areas, we will see what happens in the next few matches.'
Finch: 'We were disappointing with the ball in the last 5 overs. We leaked as many as 63 runs. We did not execute our plans well. They bowled well as an unit. We could not get going in those middle overs. We have been very competitive, we now need to win almost all our matches. It is tough but not impossible. We have nothing to lose now, we will look to get back to winning ways.'
Chand: '164 was a good target, we finished well with Kedar and Warner playing really well. It has been nice to play in front of this crowd, they had been supporting us well. I did not get any kind of starts in the first three matches, here, I got a start but failed to convert it. It was nice to hold onto the catch offered by Robin in front of the lights.'
Mahela clenches his fists as Delhi get their 2nd win in the tournament. How did Pune blow away this chase after such a promising start? Only they and their management will be able to tell. This has been their story all season though. Both openers made 37 each while Yuvraj made 31. Irfan got lucky with a couple of wickets but it was Yadav's 18th over that made the difference. Steven Smith fought hard, but he was asked to achieve the impossible. Both teams have exchanged positions in the points tally now.

19.4 Shahbaz Nadeem to Steven Smith 1
1 run, Nadeem keeps his nerve, this is full and outside off, driven to sweeper cover for a single
19.3 Shahbaz Nadeem to Steven Smith 6
SIX, massive, Smith keeps Pune's supporters believing, skips down the track, Shahbaz Nadeem dragged it down, Smith went with the heave and clears long on with ease
19.2 Shahbaz Nadeem to Steven Smith 4
FOUR, the boundary just about keeps Pune in the match, this was very full and outside off, Smith looks to drive, gets a thick edge that races away to the 3rd man fence
19.1 Shahbaz Nadeem to Steven Smith 0
no run, yorker length delivery on middle, Smith skips down the track and drives it back to the bowler
Shahbaz Nadeem [3.0-0-18-0] is back into the attack
28 needed from the last over. Who will be the Albie Morkel for Pune? Who wants to be Kohli for Delhi?
