Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Pune Warriors India, 3rd T20 Match IPL 2013

Commentary

Hyderabad won by 22 runs | Sunrisers Hyderabad Vs Pune Warriors India Live Score, 3rd Match

That ends another thrilling encounter. Pune were humbled by the new franchise to end a disappointing couple of days for fans of the western state of Maharashtra. The 1st of the double-header matches start tomorrow with Rajasthan taking on Delhi and pre-tournament favourites Chennai opening their campaign against Mumbai. Join us for what should be another entertaining day of action. For now, cheers and bye..
Mishra (MoM): 'I am very happy with the way I bowled today. The wicket was on the slower side and it suited my style of bowling. We were short by a few runs, so I decided to bowl in an aggressive fashion and go for the wickets.'
Sangakkara: 'We decided to fight and scrap for every run. Our general attitude was outstanding. I thought we were a few runs short but managed to make it up in the middle. We can keep improving and play a lot better than this. Nice to get off to a winning start as a new franchise.'
Mathews: 'We started off brilliantly. The bowler's bowled very well to keep them down to 126. I thought we needed to go hard in the first 6 overs, we need to learn from that. We still have 15 games in hand, I have the confidence that we will fight back.'
Sensational scenes as the hosts have managed to defend a paltry total of 126, and they have won by a whopping margin of 22 runs. How did Pune manage to self combust? The openers were extra cautious against Steyn and Ishant. Uthappa looked to up the tempo and fell to Perera for 24. The middle order looked very strong, atleast on paper but Amit Mishra bowled a super spell to end with three wickets. The required rate mounted and the batsmen panicked. Steyn deservedly ended the match 3 wickets from 4 balls. Hyderabad, a team that has been lampooned have started with a win while Pune will ponder as to where things went wrong in the chase.
