Mishra (MoM): 'I am very happy with the way I bowled today. The wicket was on the slower side and it suited my style of bowling. We were short by a few runs, so I decided to bowl in an aggressive fashion and go for the wickets.'
Sangakkara: 'We decided to fight and scrap for every run. Our general attitude was outstanding. I thought we were a few runs short but managed to make it up in the middle. We can keep improving and play a lot better than this. Nice to get off to a winning start as a new franchise.'
Mathews: 'We started off brilliantly. The bowler's bowled very well to keep them down to 126. I thought we needed to go hard in the first 6 overs, we need to learn from that. We still have 15 games in hand, I have the confidence that we will fight back.'
Sensational scenes as the hosts have managed to defend a paltry total of 126, and they have won by a whopping margin of 22 runs. How did Pune manage to self combust? The openers were extra cautious against Steyn and Ishant. Uthappa looked to up the tempo and fell to Perera for 24.
