Mumbai Indians vs Kings XI Punjab, 41st T20 Match IPL 2013

Commentary

Mumbai won by 4 runs | Mumbai Indians Vs Kings XI Punjab Live Score, 41st Match

Well that ends another double-header day. Pune take on Chennai tomorrow at 8:00 PM, local time. Do join us for that. Cheers and goodbye.
Rohit: 'I'm expecting the guys to do the cake ceremony for me. I wanted Malinga to come and finish off the game. We always ask too much of him. Unfortunately he could not do it today. We talk about it in length in our meetings. We want to be the best fielding side. The bowlers bowled really well too with the dew coming in. I just try to keep it simple. Stay still and if there's a ball to be put out, you have to do it. The results will show and we will have to keep winning.'
Rohit Sharma is the Man of the Match.
David Hussey: 'There was a little bit of improvement in the batting. We left a little bit too much to the tailenders. I sort of ran out of bowlers. My last over probably cost us the game. We have out backs to the wall. That catch probably changed the game. Hell of a catch and hell of a player.'
Harbhajan: 'There was a lot of bounce on this track, if you bowled it slower through the air. There was not enough side spin though. I think David Hussey's wicket was crucial. We bowled really well as a unit. Very happy for myself and Pragyan.'
Ojha: 'That's not my wicket. That was Pollard's wicket. It was almost a six, He pulled it out. The dew factor is always there. You could not take the 170 plus total for granted. You had to take wickets to put the brakes. I was fortunate to play this game. I had viral fever in the afternoon and was lucky to come back and take two wickets.'
Mumbai have hung on to clinch a tense match. David Miller has a devastated look inside the dugout. The 27 run final over in the Mumbai innings could have been the ultimate difference. David Miller fought on gamely but one can only wonder how much more Punjab could have done, had some of their players not thrown away their wickets.

19.6 Dhawal Kulkarni to Praveen Kumar W
out Caught by Tendulkar!! Yet another full toss from Dhawal Kulkarni. This time they are checking for a no ball again. It's fine though. Praveen sliced it from near his thigh to backward point where Tendulkar takes it neatly, leaning forward. It ends a valiant effort from Praveen and Punjab. Praveen Kumar c Tendulkar b Dhawal Kulkarni 24(15) [4s-1 6s-2]
10 wickets down for MOH. Out batsman is Praveen Kumar. It is all over for MOH.
19.5 Dhawal Kulkarni to Praveen Kumar 6
SIX, What a crucial hit this is from Praveen. A full toss again. Praveen swings at it with one hand and middles it well enough to get just over Dwayne Smith at deep mid wicket
19.4 Dhawal Kulkarni to Praveen Kumar 0
no run, a very high full toss and outside off too. Praveen swings out but misses. He's not happy that this was not called a no ball. He walks up to talk to Asad Rauf. That was above chest height. Poor call from Rauf
19.3 Dhawal Kulkarni to Praveen Kumar 2
2 runs, Dhawal Kulkarni fluffs a run out chance. Praveen drilled this down to long on and had to come back for the second. Dhawal Kulkarni gets the throw on the half-volley and does not collect. Awana was not even in the picture there
19.3 Dhawal Kulkarni to Praveen Kumar 1wd
wide, the slower bouncer again but it goes too high over Praveen's head
19.2 Dhawal Kulkarni to Praveen Kumar 0
no run, very nicely bowled by Dhawal Kulkarni. The slower one, Praveen swings out but is done in by the change of pace
19.1 Dhawal Kulkarni to Praveen Kumar 0
no run, a low full toss outside off, Praveen drives it hard to cover and rejects a single. David Hussey claps in appreciation
19.1 Dhawal Kulkarni to Praveen Kumar 3nb
no ball, 2 runs, too high says the umpire. The full toss was above waist height. Praveen slices it past backward point and takes two
