Cooper: 'I had the confidence, I did not bowl well in the last few games. The captain and the coach had belief in me. The pitch was on the slower side and it helped my style of bowling. The support from the other end was great as well. I am enjoying playing in the tournament, I missed a few games last time with injury but have played in more gamnes this time around, looking forward to the next few matches.'
Cooper is the MoM for his 3/23
Dravid: 'Really proud of the boys. Very happy with the quality of cricket we have played. The way our bowlers came back in the back end was superb, we had a meeting about our profligacy in the death overs. They responded superbly, we executed our plans very well. Rahane was outstanding in the chase. He was well supported by Watto and Sanju. Sanju is a great find for Indian cricket, he has all the shots in the book and is a competent keeper as well. We have a couple of tough matches coming up, Chennai and Mumbai, they have big stars in their teams and we look forward to playing them.'
Gilchrist: 'I thought Rajasthan bowlers worked out a method to bowl on that wicket. It was slower then normal, they took the sting out of our batting. We were hoping to get around 160, that would have been very competitive. We had the foundation, but did not launch. Our batting did not fire towards the end. They batted really well, especially Rahane. We are familiar with such positions, we are not dead and buried as yet. We need to win our remaining games.'
Rahane: 'The wicket was on the slower side, but it was good for batting. Our plan was to treat the bowling on merit. I wanted to bat till the end. 145 was a decent target, it was a great team effort. I am happy with my own form.'
This was a superbly paced chase by Rajasthan. They lost their skipper, Dravid early but Rahane and Watson steadied the ship with a wonderful stand for the second wicket. Chawla cleaned up Watson, but the crowd was then treated to a fine exhibition of batting from Rahane and young Samson as they took their team to a 9th win for the season. They have one foot in the playoffs and going by the way they have played this season, certainly deserve to be in the position they are at the moment.
