Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians, 5th T20 Match IPL 2013

Commentary

Mumbai won by 9 runs | Chennai Super Kings Vs Mumbai Indians Live Score, 5th Match

We've had two very good games today. Hope you enjoyed it. We are bound to have more of the same tomorrow as Punjab take on Pune and Bangalore face off against Hyderabad. Do join us for that. Cheers and goodbye for now.
Pollard: 'I'm feeling releived after that over I bowled to Dhoni. I wanted to contribute in all departments. I knew if I dropped that catch, I dropped the match. I don't want to be over-confident and drop a catch at a crucial moment. I'm working hard on my fielding. I'm not a finished product as a batsman yet. I'm still learning. I just do what the team requires at the moment. I backed myself to hit the spinners and see how it goes in the end.'
Kieron Pollard is the Man of the Match for his superb knock of 57.
Ponting: 'I'm very happy. It's always nice to be on the winning end. We wanted to be aggressive at the top of the order. Kieron's innings was fantastic and so was his partnership with Harbhajan. The outfield was lush, far more than other places in India. That made a difference. There were few nervous moments towards the end. Our bowlers did a good job throughout.'
Dhoni: 'I think the shot selection was bad. the bowlers did a very good job considering the dew. We all knew that it would be difficult if Pollard was there till the end. If we had kept wickets till the end, it would have been a different story. At one point I was not able to rotate the strike. We are slow starters. There are a lot of new bowlers. I've just left it to them for now. There will be more strategy as we go forward. 150 on this pitch should have been chased. I think it's a very good wicket as of now. As the tournament progresses, it will slow down.'
We're all set for the presentations now.
Johnson: 'I was a little bit nervous when Dhoni was going after us. I bowled a couple of good deliveries to him. Munaf bowled well in the end too. With Raina in, we wanted to go short at him early on. It worked well tonight. There was a fair bit of dew in Bangalore. It was not as bad here.'
Mumbai have won 3 of their last 4 games against Chennai. Much delight in their camp and on Ponting's face after holding their nerve in the tight finish. A lot of despondent faces in the Chennai camp but Dhoni has a wide smile as he talks with people on the sidelines. It was a terrific effort from thje Mumbai bowlers. Pollard gave them an outside chance with the bat. Munaf Patel and Mitchell Johnson led the way with the ball to ensure that Chennai never got any momentum behind them.

out Caught by Pollard!! That's the death blow for Chennai. Full and straight from Munaf Patel. Dhoni swings to flat and hard through mid wicket. The eleveation was not right. Pollard, at deep mid wicket, times his leap just right and grabs it with both hands. Excellent catch under pressure from the big West Indian. That also ends a superb knock from Dhoni.
