Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders, 11th T20 Match, IPL 2014

Commentary

Kolkata won by 2 runs | Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Kolkata Knight Riders Live Score, 11th T20 Match

How did we lose? Well, all of Bangalore will be still be scratching their heads over. They had the chance to join Punjab on top of the table, but as has been in the past, they found a way to lose. Will this loss come back to haunt them in the future? That ends what has been a cracking encounter. Tomorrow is a double header, do join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
Lynn: 'Good match to win, we were under the pump, but came back well. I nearly made a meal of the catch. The pitch was a little bit two paced, to get that total, we were looking at 180 at one time.'
Lynn is the MoM
Gambhir: 'It was an incredible win. We deserved some luck as well. Hopefully, we will continue to do well. It was difficult to clear the fence when the ball became old. We were perhaps 10-15 runs short, Lynn and SK Yadav did well towards the end. We had the bowling to defend this score. It was an unbeliveable catch, he kept his calm, had he dropped it, AB would have finished the game. We are still scratchy, and can do better.'
Kohli: 'The jaw is fine but got a bad hit, it took off from nowhere. We lost that game rather than Kolkata winning it but they bowled well towards the end. We would have chased it 9 out of 10 times but today we couldn't. We did well to restrict them to 150 on this wicket and we can take a lot of positives from this game.'
Bangalore will be left stunned. How did they let this chase slip by. Yogesh Takawale started the chase very well, and when he was dismissed, Bangalore were cruising along. Kohli and Yuvraj batted serenely. Even when Kohli fell, Bangalore were favourites. Yuvraj struggled and that was the opening Kolkata needed. They bowled very well at the death, and Vinay was the stand-out as he defended 9 runs from the final over.
Kohli is furious, Donald can't believe what has happended. The Kolkata camp are delirious with joy. Vinay has tripped his former team at the post, he has again managed to defend a small target in the last over of the innings
End of over 20, 6 runs (1 1 1 W 2 1 )
BLR: 148/5
Albie Morkel - 6(5) This over: 5 runs
Mitchell Starc - 0(0) This over: 1 runs
Vinay Kumar
(4.0 - 0 - 26 - 2)
19.6 Vinay Kumar to Albie Morkel 1
1 run, Vinay wins it for Kolkata, he is chuffed to bits, so are the rest of the team. This is unbeliveable, how on earth did Bangalore make a mess of this chase? Another full toss from Vinay, Morkel looks for the big swing and mistimes it towards the off-side, just a single. Kolkata win
4 needed from the last ball
19.5 Vinay Kumar to Albie Morkel 2
2 runs, full and on the stumps, Morkel drills it back over the bowler's head, the fielder at long on gets across and keeps them down to a barce
Mitchell Starc, left handed bat, comes to the crease
19.4 Vinay Kumar to AB de Villiers W
out Caught by Lynn!! Unbelievable stuff from Lynn at deep mid-wicket. This was full and just outside off, de Villiers went for the big strike over mid-wicket. Lynn was the man out there, he slipped and was down on the floor, manages to get up, watches the ball all along and holds onto a screamer diving backwards. He makes sure that he did not touch the ropes as well, stunning, stunning catch. de Villiers c Lynn b Vinay 11(12) [4s-1]
5 wickets down for BLR. Out batsman is AB de Villiers
Lynn might have just pulled off a stunner. The third umpire will have a look. AB is walking off. Catch of the season . AB is OUT
This is good stuff so far from Vinay, can he hold his nerve here?
19.3 Vinay Kumar to Albie Morkel 1
1 run, full toss from Vinay, he missed his length there, Morkel went for the big drive, ends up slicing it over cover for a single
