Delhi Daredevils vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, 2nd T20 Match, IPL 2014

Commentary

Bangalore won by 8 wkts | Delhi Daredevils Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Live Score, 2nd T20 Match

A thumping victory by Bangalore to kick-start their campaign. Second straight one-sided match of the tournament though. Tomorrow is a double header and hopefully we will get to see even contests. For now, cheers and bye..
Chahal: 'This was my 2nd Indian T20 league match, I have played one for Mumbai before. I was confident, I knew the ball would turn. Murali sir was sitting on the sidelines, Kohli supported me a lot during my spell.'
Yuzvendra Chahal is the MoM
Kohli: 'We were just getting used to the pace of the wicket, hopefully, we will do well in the next few matches. It was easily a 170+ track, the bowlers did very well to keep them down to 145. Chahal was extremely good. It was sad how Yuvraj was targetted after the finals, he has won us 2 World Cups. I just told him to bat the way he wants to, it is a joy to watch him bat in this form.'
Karthik: 'We did not bat well, especially at the top. It was a great partnership from JP and Ross. The fielding was also ordinary. Sometimes, you don't know who to bowl at what stage. It is just the first game, we have to come back hard in the next game. Duminy hit some lusty blows at the end which was good for us.'
A convincing victory for Bangalore and that too without Chris Gayle. They lost Maddinson early, but the launch pad was provided by Parthiv Patel. He made sure that the run-rate did not dip at any stage of the chase. Kohli was strangely off-colour today, but he could take his time to settle down. He was dropped twice on 23 and 24, and made sure that Dehi pay. On the other hand, the much maligned Yuvraj Singh started shakily, grew in confidence as his innings progressed before finishing it off in style. For Delhi, the bowling barring Mohammad Shami was ordinary and the fielding and catching was shoddy.
