Commentary

Kolkata won by 7 wkts | Sunrisers Hyderabad Vs Kolkata Knight Riders Live Score, 43rd T20 Match

That ends another double-header. Bangalore kept their hopes alive with a win over Chennai whereas Hyderabad lost their way in the race for the play-offs after losing to Kolkata. Another double-header coming up tomorrow. Until then, cheers and Cya!
Umesh Yadav: 'It is my first Man of the Match award so I am really happy. I was bowling well and today I got my rhythm right. I just did the basics right. There was good bounce on this wicket and I enjoyed the carry. I try to swing the ball at the start and with my pace I can trouble the batsmen.'
Umesh Yadav is the Man of the Match for his figures of 3/26
Gambhir: 'I wouldn't have reacted like that if it wasn't in an important game (when asked whether he nicked the ball). It was in the heat of the moment. Robin, Yusuf and Tendo batted really well. This was an important game as Hyderabad were just behind us. It is good to get a win away from home. It was a terrific effort from the bowlers to restrict a strong batting line-up. The boys are working hard and it is showing with the way we are playing. We would like to keep the momentum going forward.'
Sammy: 'We did not capitalize on the start. We kept losing wickets at crucial times. Credit to the bowlers. The bowlers tried to make a game out of it. Catches win matches. Today we dropped crucial catches. The conditions here are different from what it was last year. We have had good games but we could not capitalize on the key moments. All is not over. We have to win our remaining three games and hope other results go our way.'
Kolkata keep their winning streak intact, it is their 4th consecutive win. Things didn't start off well as Gambhir was unlucky to be given out but Uthappa and Pandey laid the platform for the middle-order. Both batsmen got starts but got out at the wrong time. It was then left to Yusuf and Tendo to see the team through. The elder Pathan showed signs of coming back into form as he played sensibly and guided Kolkata to a good win. Hyderabad bowlers did not have enough runs to defend, but they tried hard. The fielders also did not support them as they put down couple of chances. With this win Kolkata move to 12 points and stay in 4th place, Hyderabad will need some miracle to get into the play-offs now. Stay tuned for the presentation..
Both batsmen jump in the air and celebrate the victory. Gambhir is also seen pumping his fists in the dug-out. All the Kolkata players are applauding the efforts of both men.
