Commentary

Kolkata won by 4 wkts | Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Live Score, 54th T20 Match

Whoa! Yusuf's sensational power-hitting has propelled Kolkata to second place. I'm off to ice my fingers now. Cheers for your company. Do join us tomorrow for the last day of the double-header. Until then, Goodbye and good night.
Yusuf Pathan: 'It feels good. I am happy that I was able to turn it on at the right time. It's a great feeling when the ball hits the middle of the bat and travels a long distance. I was very happy with my hundred, but my team didn't win on that day, but today I am happy that my knock helped my team to qualify as the 2nd best team. I try to remain calm but if it's in my zone I will try to go for the big shots as I put my team first. I don't think about what other people say and play as per my team's requirement.'
Yusuf Pathan is the Man of the Match for his blistering innings..
Gambhir: 'I've neer seen this kind of an innings. I could have only dream of it. It still has not sunk in. We always wanted to finish in 15.2 overs, it was always there in our mind. We dropped some important catches. These things happen when you are under the pump, somebody like a Dale Steyn also put down a catch. We have played really well, we deserved to finish second.'
Sammy: 'Wooh! I wish I could hit some like that. Again we put down crucial catches but credit to him (Yusuf), phenomenal hitting. We lost momentum after the first six overs. We haven't been consistent this year.'
Yusuf has set the Eden ablaze, Kolkata surge to second. Uthappa gave the ideal platform as he usually does. Gauti shone briefly before he chopped a Holder delivery on. Then it was the Yusuf show all the way. He slammed 7 sixes and 5 fours en-route to the fastest fifty in Indian T20 League history. The upshot was that Kolkata overhauled 160 inside 15.2 overs. Yusuf was aided by a few dropped chances as well. But it hardly dims his dazzling effort.
14.3 Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Suryakumar Yadav 1wd
wide, Bhuvi sprays this down the leg side, Kolkata nail the second spot. Yusuf Pathan is pumped up, he lets out a primeval roar. He is mobbed by his team mates in the dug out. The purple balloons are all over the Eden. Seven wins on the trot - this is Kolkata's longest winning streak as well. Yusuf ( with pads on) hugs Yadav! Yusuf wears a giant smile on his face and why not. This marks the end of the road for Hyderabad. Irfan now comes up to his brother and hugs him as well. 72 runs off just 22 balls. What a knock from Yusuf!
14.2 Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Suryakumar Yadav 6
SIX, scores are level now. Yusuf explodes in the dug out. Yadav races down the track, converts it into a length ball and lofts it over the bowler's head, crisp and clean

Vinay Kumar, right handed bat, comes to the crease
13.5 Karn Sharma to Yusuf Pathan W
out Caught by Dhawan!! Yusuf walks off to a tremendous reception. He raises his bat and acknowledges the crowd. What an innings. The Kolkata dug out is on its feet. Shortish and hurled in, Pathan lines up for another powerful pull, he does not connect it properly, drags it to deep mid-wicket, where Dhawan runs across and pouches it safely. Yusuf has done all the damage though. Y Pathan c Dhawan b Karn Sharma 72(22) [4s-5 6s-7]
13.4 Karn Sharma to Yusuf Pathan 6
SIX, Yusuf, take a bow. Shortish and on the leg-stump, Pathan goes for an almighty pull and sends it sailing over deep mid-wicket
