India vs Sri Lanka, Final, India and Sri Lanka in West Indies Tri-Series 2013

India won by 1 wkt | India Vs Sri Lanka Live Score, Final

Dhoni calls Virat Kohli and they pose with the trophy. Happy times indeed for India. That is all from us here. Join us for more cricketing action in the coming days. Bye Bye!
Oops, Arun Lal seems to have forgotten the most important part of the match. He forgot to announce the trophy and he suddenly remembers. Very anti-climatic indeed.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar: 'I knew that the wickets assisted swing and so I focused on bowling a right line. I was determined to put in my best effort and I put in a lot of effort in the nets. I was not thinking about this award before the series. The seniors made me comfortable in the team. Dhoni has a calming influence both in the dressing room and on the field.'

I was not thinking about this award before the series. The seniors made me comfortable in the team. Dhoni has a calming influence both in the dressing room and on the field.'
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the Man of the Series for picking up 10 wickets.
Rohit Sharma: 'I am happy with the way we performed and I am glad that we won the series. The wicket was not easy to bat on and so I had to delay my shots. We know that Dhoni has won us matches in the last over and we were positive. This was no surprise.'
Dhoni: 'I am blessed with a bit of good cricketing sense. I am also blessed with 15 good players on the field and it shows in our results. I can look for 15 runs in the last over and I backed myself as the bowler was not so experienced. I did not take a chance against Malinga or Mathews who are experienced, but luckily it worked out for us. It was a 2 kilogram bat and it helps in power hitting.'
MS Dhoni is the MoM for his unbeaten knock of 45 to help India cross the line.
Mathews: 'The bowlers showed a lot of character in defending 200. After the dismissals of Sangakkara and Thirimanne, we lost momentum. We kept taking wrong options. If we had batted the full fifty overs, we would have reached 240-250. Dhoni is a great finisher but Herath bowled really well. We need to tighten up our batting.'
Tweet from BCCI (Bored cricket crazy Indians): On the way back, I don't put it beyond Dhoni winning the Ashes as well. #indvssl
India were coasting at 139/3 with Rohit Sharma batting well. However, once he departed, India struggled to gain momentum. Herath was the chief destroyer and he snapped up Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin in quick succession in his final over. However, Dhoni hung in there as wickets tumbled at the other end. In the last over bowled by Eranga, Dhoni was in his elements as he smashed a six, a four and then a six as India clinched a thriller by one wicket. This has been a memorable final and India's golden run in ODIs continues.
In the 2011 World Cup, Dhoni finished the game with a six. Now, in the 2013 Tri-series, Dhoni has won the cup again with a six. Sri Lanka will forever be haunted by this.
The Indian team run out onto the field and celebrate. Once again, Dhoni has hurt Sri Lanka at a crucial time. 15 runs were needed off the last over and Dhoni finished it in the way he knows best. Indeed, what can one say about Dhoni? He comes back for the final, stays till the end, farms the strike and gets 15 runs off the last over with some big hits. Truly, a champion finisher in ODI cricket.
End of over 50, 16 runs (. 6 4 6 )
IND: 204/9
MS Dhoni - 45(52) This over: 16 runs
Ishant Sharma - 2(7) This over: 0 runs
Shaminda Eranga
(9.4 - 2 - 50 - 2)
49.4 Shaminda Eranga to MS Dhoni 6
SIX, India WIN! Unbelievable stuff from MS Dhoni. He is truly the champion finisher in ODI cricket. Full ball outside off, Dhoni stays on the crease and crunches it flat over the ropes at wide long off for a huge six, India have won the trophy in style.
200 runs for IND
5 runs needed off 3 balls
