Bangladesh vs India, 2nd ODI, India tour of Bangladesh, 2014

Commentary

India won by 47 runs (D/L method) | Bangladesh Vs India Live Score, 2nd ODI

Spare a thought to debutant Taskin Ahmed. He was outstanding today but his batsmen have let him down big time. That ends proceedings here. Can Bangladesh end their 9-match losing streak and end the series on a high? Join us back on Thursday for all the actions. Until then, take care, goodbye!
Binny: 'It's a special occasion for me, just got to play my 3rd ODI, yeah, happy moment. I think today was my day and I made the most of it. We had to got out there and show our character after having posted a poor total on the board. I came to Bangladesh a couple of times before but the wickets weren't quite helpful as this.'
Stuart Binny is the Man of the Match for 4.4-2-4-6
Raina: 'I think Taskin bowled exceptionally well. I thought we needed to score 170-180 but the bowlers did really well. Unbelievable spell by Binny. That's the best I've seen. Unfortunately he didn't play the first game but today he bowled very well. I knew I had to back the bowlers. I've seen Mohit bowl well in the domestic circuit. I never knew Binny could bowl this well.'
Rahim: 'I thought to restrict India to 106 was very good but the way the batsmen messed it up was very disappointing. Nothing going right for us at the moment, hopefully we will come back and do well in the next game. We weren't mentally there. The wicket was helping the seamers. You had to spend time to be able to score on this surface. The way some of our batsmen got out was disappointing to see. Taskin bowled very well but it's unfortunate to lose this way.'
Binny: 'The plan was to come out hard. Don't give them easy runs and don't give them boundary balls. My plan was to keep it simple. At the lunch break, we discussed to bowl in good areas and that's it. Yeah, I would like to bowl on this wicket every day.'
Mithun Ali and Mushfiqur Rahim steadied the ship for a while before Binny was introduced into the attack. He got Rahim in his second over and since then, Bangladesh never got going as he ran through their batting line-up. Mohit Sharma too did his part by keeping it tight and was getting some extra bounce as well. In the end, the duo shared all 10 wickets between them to help India clinch the 3-match series with one more game to go. Suresh Raina was exceptional with his field placing and the bowling changes. To have a man at gully when Mahmudullah walked in was out of the box thinking from the Indian skipper. This is the joint second lowest total for Bangladesh in ODIs.
Great scenes out there if you are an Indian fan! They get into a huddle and celebrate the victory. The Bangladeshi players come down to shake hands and the crowd is absolutely stunned. India used just three bowlers and all three were good enough, with Binny being the pick of the lot. It was a rash stroke from Tamim Iqbal in the first over that gave India some hope. When Mohit removed Anamul before the supper break, the match was in the balance.

out Bowled!! This is the lowest total successfully defended by India in ODIs. Full and swinging away outside off stump, Hossain plays across the line and loses his off stump. 4.4-2-4-6, best figures for an Indian in the 50-over format. A Hossain b Binny 0(2)
10 wickets down for BAN. Out batsman is Al-Amin Hossain. It is all over for BAN.

no run, outswinging short of length delivery outside off stump, Hossain shoulders arms
Al-Amin Hossain, right handed bat, comes to the crease
17.2 Stuart Binny to Nasir Hossain W
out Bowled!! That's a fifer for Stuart Binny! Last of the recognised batsman has been dismissed! Full delivery outside off stump, Nasir goes for the drive and drags it back onto the off stump. Wonder what's going through Rahim's mind at the moment! Surely, when they saw the target at the innings break, they would have backed themselves to chase it down with at least 10-15 overs to spare. Nasir Hossain b Binny 5(13)
5 wickets for Stuart Binny. Stuart Binny is killing BAN
17.1 Stuart Binny to Nasir Hossain 0
no run, outside edge but it doesn't carry to Saha. Binny keeps the seam upright and shapes it away, Nasir slashes and gets lucky
