Virender Sehwag's 106 and Sourav Ganguly's gritty fifty fuelled India to 357. Matthew Hoggard toiled hard for 35 overs, taking 4 wickets. Towards the close of the innings, Harbhajan threw his bat around, en-route to a 37-ball 54. England launched a strong response with Michael Vaughan leading the way with a top-notch 197 though he was unlucky to be dismissed three shy of 200. Craig White(94*) engineered a late order surge to lift England past the 600-mark.
Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Ajit Agarkar were guilty of not being too penetrative. The pitch did not hold much alarms, allowing the Indian batsmen to prosper in the last innings. Rahul Dravid compiled a studious 115 while Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar scored nineties to force the game into a draw.

Rahane: 'It feels special when you score a hundred and the team wins. The bowlers did well, the credit goes to the entire team. I was batting well. I got out cheaply in the first two games. I was determined today. It was great to watch Dhawan from the other end. It is a great challenge to open. When your captain tells you to open, you have to accept the challenge.'
Ajinkya Rahane is the Man of the Match for his hundred, his first in ODIs.
Dhoni: 'Our performance is getting better. I think this was a perfect game. There was a bit of help for the fast bowlers. They made the job easy for the spinners. It was a good toss to win. It was important to bowl in the right areas. I personally thought that the wicket won't turn much. The fast bowlers bowled really well. It is important for us that the openers get going. If they spend 10-12 overs and get a good start, we can slog in the death overs. We rely a lot on the openers. Shikhar was back in form. Rahane was third in line with Shikhar and Rohit opening. He has made the best out of it. He plays authentic shots, he is a good timer. I personally feel the role suits him. Rohit is also very talented and can slot into the middle-order, but as of now we won't force any changes. We have had a good time. Thanks a lot (when enquired about surpassing Azhar to become India's most successful ODI captain). The senior players guided us how to play cricket. A lot of credit goes to the seniors I have played under. The youngsters have picked up as well. It was really good playing here. Thanks for all the support.'
