Commentary

That will wind up things on what has been a pretty long day with all the rain breaks and all. Hope you enjoyed the coverage, we certainly did our best to do so. Until next time, on behalf of Sid P, Sriram and Sathya, this is Srivathsa signing out. Good night and sleep tight!

Jeevan: 'I have been working on the googly in the last couple of months, with the coach and it is working out. We will take it as challenge (on getting used to bowling with the field restrictions) and as time goes by we will add up to that.'

Jeevan Mendis is the MoM for his three wickets

Mahela: 'Very happy with the series win. The toss was a bit lucky, but the bowlers stuck to their guns and put them under pressure. With the rain around, batting under lights was always going to be tough, both Upul and Chandi batted really well. Kumar was disappointed that he missed out in the last couple of games, he applied himself really well and guided Chandi through a rough phase. Would like to speak to the selectors tomorrow and then decide on what changes need to be made for the final ODI.'

Taylor: 'They played smart cricket right from the start and were the better team at the end of the day. Milne showed us what he can do with the bat and if we can win one game, we can give the fans something to cheer back home.'

Sri Lanka never looked in any strife though it must be said that Boult and Southee beat the bat on numerous occasions during their opening spell. Chandimal lived a charmed life and Boult could have got him at least a couple of times. After the initial difficult phase, the chase became relatively easy and though the batsmen slowed down considerably towards the end, the job was complete with ease. Do stay tuned for the presentation..
