That brings to an end a very wet series. Still there are a couple of tests to go in this series, hopefully those matches aren't affected by rain. Mahela: 'We just had to scrap our way through the series and that's what we did. We still need to work on a couple of things, but credit to the boys - everyone chipped in. After the T20 series, the boys were down a bit and the senior guys played their part. Looking forward to the test series. It is important to go back to the basics during the test series. In the last three-four months we have discovered a couple of new talents and they have been fast-tracked into the side, it will be interesting to see how they go. I still have four months to go as far as the captaincy is concerned, after that I will have a chat with the selectors and see how it goes.'
Taylor: 'All the three facets of the game we need to work on. Sri Lanka played smart cricket throughout the series and deserved to win 3-0. As a team we are growing and we need to repay the fans' faith - hopefully today is the start. Test Cricket is the ultimate and hopefully the weather will play it's part.'
Watling: 'I'm reasonably happy with my performance, disappointed that we went down 0-3. Look forward to the next series, it was good to gain a bit of experience. I'm going back and will play a couple of first-class games, so another chance to work on my keeping.'

A damp way to end one of the most rain affected series of all time - all the games in the series which included a T20I and 5 ODIs had to deal with rain. The series was won 3-0 by Sri Lanka with New Zealand still struggling to come to terms with playing in the sub-continent.
